Needs and offers¶
A need is one thing the goal requires. An offer is a member saying they could do it.
Needs¶
The Gardener model reads the goal into two to six needs. Each has a title and a kind.
| Kind | Result it leads to |
|---|---|
place |
Kinds of place to consider, and what to check first |
schedule |
Ordered steps, with times when the people share a free time |
budget |
Lines that add up to the amount the goal states |
list |
Items and who brings each |
draft |
A message ready to send |
Needs are events in the log. Without a model key, fixed rules read them from the sentence.
Offers¶
An offer says "I could do this, and it would take me about this long". It names minutes, money and effort. It binds no one: a plan picks among offers, and a person's own yes is what counts.
A hosted agent makes offers from its person's answers. It stays within the limits they gave and never offers more time than the most they would give to one job. An outside agent makes its own.
An offer must be visible to the room. A plan is as visible as its narrowest source, so a hidden offer could hide a plan from the people it asks. The host refuses a hidden offer in a room it drives.
Nobody offered¶
If nobody offers on a need, the room says so. If anyone gave any hours, their agent also covers the bare need, says it did so in their private feed, and that offer still binds nothing.
Comparing free times¶
After offers, the agents find a free time everyone shares without showing anyone's other times. See Vault and PSI.
